Professional Profile

With over 20 years of service to Fortune 500 companies as a business lawyer, Mr. Whittemore has since 1996 been focusing his private practice on entrepreneurs, small and mid-size, privately held companies, providing them with general counsel services typically needed as growth takes place. He has also served as a professional neutral in commercial disputes and in conflicts between and among Shareholders, Partners and LLC Members.

Mr. Whittemore ("Bill") is a native of Westchester County, New York, with his parents and grandparents from New York City, Providence, Rhode Island and Wellfleet, Massachusetts. A number of his siblings and cousins continue to be located throughout New England. After living all over the United States, and traveling the world in his corporate legal assignments, in the mid-1990’s Mr. Whittemore decided to scratch his own entrepreneurial itch. He returned to New England and hung out his shingle in Ridgefield, Connecticut. He continues to draw upon his area of expertise as a corporate and business lawyer, but now for privately held companies. Meanwhile, he and his wife, Emily, have raised their two children, Todd and Claire, in Ridgefield. They continue to enjoy the changing seasons, the friendly and classically New England town life, and in Bill's law practice the thriving business culture of surrounding Fairfield and Westchester Counties. Last but not least, their faithful dog, Tobey, helps out on both business and domestic fronts in every way he can.
